NaNo Wrap Up

November was a rough month for writing.  For me, anyway.  Despite the motivation of National Novel Writing Month, I was only just able to scrape a win.  Still, a win is a win, even if I wasn’t able to hit my personal goals.

With any luck I’ll be able to finish this book in the next couple of weeks, and then can start in on editing it.

Even though this is the same book I wrote last November, it’s amazing how little this version and that version have in common.  Whole casts of characters have been deleted and added.  Plots have been dropped, moved, resequenced, and enhanced.  Entire chunks of the book have been moved to other books.  My ending is now the beginning of book 3.

A year of work has left me with something new.  Something better.  I can’t help but wonder what I’ll have in my hands this time next year.
