In three days the craziness of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) begins – when over 100,000 adults try their best to write 50,000 words in 30 days.
This year I decided to challenge myself with a 75,000 word goal. Now I find myself wondering if I’ll even reach 30,000.
Lots of wonderful things are happening for me right now. Rob and I are closing on a house next week, will moving soon after, and I have a serious shot at a full time job – something I’ve been without for more than a year. With all this going on, I just can’t see how I’m going to churn out even 50,000 words.
I think I could still make my goal if we were moving or I got a new job (which isn’t a sure thing and I don’t want to jinx it. And really, a job is important and writing 50K words in a month isn’t, but writing is important to me.), but I can’t bring myself to regret either of these things.
Still, I’m determined to do my best no matter the circumstances. Rob may be a little lonely in November as I spend my evenings and weekends writing, our only together time being when we’re sleeping or unpacking. Hopefully it won’t be that bad, but it could be.
Every spare moment I get I’ll be writing!
